A Brush with Tradition: Gongbi Painting Workshop Inspires ABAC Freshmen
Suvarnabhumi Campus was a canvas for creativity as students from Creative Communication Design department, Assumption University (ABAC) recently experienced the rich heritage of Chinese art. From August 2-4, Asst. Prof. Zhang Li, Deputy Dean of the School of International Education at Nanjing University of Industry Technology, led an inspiring three-day workshop on the intricate art of gongbi-style traditional Chinese painting.
The workshop offered ABAC Art and design ’s multinational freshmen an opportunity to dive deep into a precise and elegant art form. Asst. Prof. Zhang Li shared her expertise, guiding students through the meticulous techniques that define gongbi, a style known for its detailed brushwork and vibrant colors. This unique cultural exchange provided students with more than just an art lesson; it was a chance to connect with an ancient tradition and develop new artistic skills.
The event was a great success, made possible by the dedicated support of the Graduate School, ABAC. Their commitment to providing rare and enriching experiences like this workshop enhances the educational journey for all students, fostering a campus environment that values both academic excellence and cultural exploration.
