CA Student Sebastian Keck Balances Academics and Rajadamnern Stadium Fights

The Faculty of Communication Arts (CA) at Assumption University (ABAC) celebrates the exceptional discipline and talent of Sebastian Patrice Keck, a third-year student in the Creative Commercial Communication (CCC) program. Sebastian isn’t just excelling in the classroom; he’s also making a name for himself as a formidable Muay Thai fighter with bouts lined up at the prestigious Rajadamnern Stadium!

Sebastian embodies the kind of high-achieving, multi-talented individual CA strives to develop one who finds balance between a demanding sport and rigorous creative studies.

Sebastian highlights how the CCC program supports his unique lifestyle and development:

    • Time and Freedom: He credits his lecturers for understanding his commitment to training and providing the space he needs. “I like all my teachers, they give you a lot of time and freedom,” he says, “and they let you approach each class the way you want it to.” This flexibility is key to managing a professional fighting schedule.

    • Real-World Experience: The program’s focus on practical learning prepares him for the future. “Each class gives you like hands-on experience with real-world activities which teaches you a lot.” This foundational knowledge in commercial communication complements his personal brand development as an athlete.

Like many students at CA, Sebastian has benefited from the faculty’s “Plearn” (Play + Learn) philosophy. This concept ensures that education is both fun and effective.

Sebastian experiences “Plearn” most vividly during group work:

“I think I experience Plearn the most is when I do group works with my friends. We play a lot, and we also study and learn a lot while doing it.”

The CCC program actively offers a variety of activities for students to explore, which Sebastian encourages everyone to try. “CCC offers you a lot of activities for you to try and you might find something you like and even something that inspires you.”

Sebastian is currently preparing for his next major fight, showcasing the incredible determination he applies to both his sport and his studies.

The Faculty of Communication Arts is incredibly proud to support students like Sebastian who pursue their passions at the highest level while committing to their education. He proves that with the right balance and a supportive academic environment, anything is possible.
